Is the HP Prime a good calculator?
I think the HP Prime is the finest graphing calculator available today, regardless of price! I have owned and used the TI NSpire, TI 84, TI 89, Casio Classpad and Casio FX9100 calculators and they don’t come close! The touch screen is perfect in sensitivity to touch and the user interface is superb.
Are HP calculators still made?
While HP calculators are still being sold after the death of HP’s calculator division, they are no longer designed in-house but instead come from an outsourced OEM/ODM. This web page remains online for historical reasons, but HP as a brand of calculators has not died and will not disappear anytime soon.
How do I update firmware on HP Prime?
Go to Folder : Documents > HP Connectivity Kit. Drop the files into the “Firmware” sub-Folder. Click on the box to the left of Auto update to check it and then click on the Update button (see the figure below). Wait for the update to complete and then reboot the calculator.

RE: How to tell if a Prime is version G1 or G2? I find that the easiest way to know which version it is is to reboot it. The G1 has an animation with the HP logo, a cartesian plan and the x²+y²=1 equation. The G2 has only the HP logo.
