Do I need to use an adapter with my Fumoto valve?
This adapter is essential if you wish to install a Fumoto oil drain valve because the shape of the recess does not allow the Fumoto valve room to rotate (screw in) without this extension.
How tight should a Fumoto valve be?
- Hand tighten: Thread the valve into the oil drain port by hand, do not cross-thread.
- Fully Tighten: Tighten with a crescent wrench on the body of the valve* ⅛ to ¼ turn past hand tight, or to the value shown on the torque chart for your valve model. Do not over tighten.
Why is my Fumoto valve leaking?
If the leak is coming from the oil drain port, The threads on the oil pan may be damaged. If this is the case, the valve may not be sealed completely to the drain port, and the threads will need to be fixed prior to re-install the valve with a new gasket washer(or an o-ring for SX type valves).

It won’t void any warranty…etc. The issue is no longer voiding the warranty. It is diagnosing the leak. At this point I think the OP will not only need to replace the valve but also clean the existing oil away so that area is clean so that future leaking can be detected.
