Kou Mabuchi Yuri first fell in love with Kou after he helped her get across the river during the field trip. She tries her best to learn more about Kou, and feels a little uneasy when Kou and Yoshioka are really close. Between Yoshioka and Yuri, she was the first one to see Kou’s mother’s memorial room.

Why does Kou have the earring?
The kanji on Kou’s earring means “traffic” (交通, kōtsū), hence the nickname Mitsuba gave him, and the first kanji of the word (交, kō) is homophonous with Kou’s first name (光, kō).
